What we do with your details
The quiz asks for three things: your name, your postcode and a mobile number. This page explains what happens to them, in the same plain English as the rest of the site.
The short version is that we use them to ring you about your enquiry, and for nothing else.
The short version
- We use your details to call you back about your enquiry.
- We don't send marketing, and we don't sell or pass on your details.
- This site sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device.
- Ask us to delete your details and we will.
The longer version
- Who we are
- Krown Kooling, an air conditioning firm covering the Midlands. We decide how your details are used, which makes us the data controller for them.Placeholder registered company details go here once the paperwork is confirmed.
- What we collect
- From the quiz: your name, postcode and mobile number, your answers to the questions about the property and the room, which page you started from, and the time you sent it. That is the lot. We don't ask for an address, a date of birth or anything about your finances, because none of it helps us quote.
- Why we need it
- To ring you back with a price, which is the thing you asked us to do. The law calls that taking steps at your request before entering a contract. We keep a record of the enquiry afterwards so we know what was discussed if you call again.
- Who else sees it
- Two companies, both working on our behalf and neither allowed to use your details for anything of their own. Cloudflare hosts the site and the database, on servers in Western Europe. Resend delivers the email that tells us a new enquiry has arrived. Nobody else. We don't sell data and we don't share it with other trades.
- How long we keep it
- If the enquiry doesn't turn into a job, we delete it after two years. If you become a customer, we keep the record for six years after the last job we did for you, because that is how long we have to hold records for tax and for the workmanship guarantee.
- Marketing
- We don't send it. Giving us your number to get a price is not the same as asking to hear from us again, and we don't treat it as though it were. If that ever changes we will ask you first, and you will be able to say no without it affecting anything else.
What you can ask us to do
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it if we've typed something wrong, or ask us to delete it. You can also tell us to stop using it. Ask us and we'll do it, normally the same week and always within a month, and there's no charge.
If you think we've handled your details badly, tell us first and we'll try to put it right. If you're still unhappy you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, which is the UK regulator for this.
