Air conditioning repairs, on any make
Not every call is about something we fitted. If your air conditioning has started playing up, whoever put it in, we can usually get out and take a proper look.
We will always tell you straight. Sometimes an older machine has done its job and a repair is money spent on borrowed time, and we would rather say that on the phone than let you find out later.
The signs it is worth a call
- It has stopped cooling
- The most common call we get. Could be as simple as a low refrigerant level, or something further into the system, but it is always worth a proper look before you write the machine off.
- It is leaking water inside
- Usually a blocked drain rather than anything serious, but left alone it can mark a ceiling or a wall, so it is worth catching early rather than living with a bucket.
- It has started making a new noise
- A rattle, a hum that was not there before, or a noise on start-up. Machines do not usually go from silent to noisy for no reason.
- It is tripping the electrics
- Do not keep resetting it and hoping. That is exactly the kind of fault that gets worse, not better, left alone.
- It smells odd when it runs
- A musty smell is usually the filter or the drain. A burning smell means switch it off at the wall and call us.
Why summer is when the phone rings
Most repair calls land in the same fortnight everyone else's does: the first proper hot spell of the year. That is when a machine that has been quietly struggling finally gives up, right when you need it most.
We are not a 24-hour emergency line. Kevin is out fitting and repairing all day, same as any real engineer, so we keep to the hours on the door: Monday to Saturday, 10am to 6pm.
