What a commissioning job for a business actually asks of us
- A written specification
- A shopping centre landlord sets out exactly what can go in before anyone touches a wall: the make, how it is fixed, sometimes the pipework itself. We work to what is written down, not what is quickest for us.
- RAMS
- Short for risk assessment and method statement: paperwork setting out exactly how a job will be done safely, agreed before anyone sets foot on site. Centres will not let us in without it, so it is ready every time.
- Insurance thresholds
- Bigger sites ask for higher public liability cover than most homeowners would ever think to check for. We carry it as standard, on every job, not just the ones that ask.
- Out-of-hours access
- A restaurant or a shop cannot have the power off mid-trade, so a lot of this work happens before opening or after closing. We are used to fitting around a business, not through the middle of one.

None of the above changes what turns up at a house. The vacuum test, the pipe sizing, the finish: it is the same whether the wall answers to a landlord or just to you.
